I’m listening to Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate)’s What It Takes To Move Forward and slowly realizing that this album is truly perfect. I’m in such a state of bliss right now just listening to the music and reading along to these beautiful, poetic lyrics and I just… I rarely feel this way. This is the best feeling in the world and I truly hope that anyone who’s never experienced such a deep connection to something like this gets the chance to. Nothing else in the world exists right now.
I wish someone was experiencing this with me right now to be honest because this is truly beautiful. I haven’t felt this way about music in a long while and it feels really nice.
This is my Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) collection. I posted this a while back but I’ve gotten new stuff and a better quality camera, so here we are. This is my favorite band in the whole wide world.
Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) - What Had Taken Years To Put Together Was Destroyed In One Moment
“time is better spent on things you can change”
Empire! Empire! (I Was A Lonely Estate) - “I Swim Like A Minnow”
you bobby-pinned your auburn hair back,
as we crossed over the washington state line in my grandfather’s car
we were fleeing the scene of a california coast line,
where we buried our dreams among the gridlock and concrete
barefoot, we pulled off the road, and stepped into the summer night
and we drank greedily of greenery and open air
this was not the time or place to address
the emptiness that hung around us
or how the end of this trip birthed us with uncertainty
of what to do next
